Fire Communications Supervisor - City of Glendale Salary: $5,017 - $7,298 per month Under the direction of Fire Management, this mid-management supervisory position oversees operations of the Verdugo Fire Communications Center, which serves multiple communities. This includes scheduling, policy and procedure development and enforcement, emergency contingency plan development, assists in short and long range planning, supervision of equipment repair, and staff supervision and job performance review and recommendation of personnel actions. Education: Graduation from high school or attainment of GED or CHSPE certificate. Experience: Five years current, full-time employment in a fire communications public safety facility utilizing a computer-aided dispatch system (CAD), two years of which must be at a supervisory level. License/Certifications: Valid Class C California driver's license; possession of a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) card; certification in ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, ICS-800 (Incident Command System) by the end of the probationary period; Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) Certificate by the end of the probationary period; certificate in Resource Ordering and Status System (ROSS) Basic and Administrative by the end of the probationary period. Radio Communications Analyst - San Bernardino County SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES DIVISION Job Summary: The Telecommunication Services Division of the County of San Bernardino is looking for Radio Communications Analysts who coordinate, design, and maintain the County's telecommunications systems, equipment, and associated circuits for the transmission, reception, and display of voice, data, and other information on wireless communication systems for designated County departments and outside agencies. About Us: The Telecommunication Services Division provides design, operation, maintenance and administration of the County's Regional Public Safety Radio System, which integrates all countywide law enforcement, fire and EMS emergency radio dispatch capabilities, an enterprise mobile data network as well as an alphanumeric paging system. Duties: Perform analytical and technical work on land mobile radios, trunked radio systems, circuit based interconnect systems and related support equipment. Engineer and design conventional and trunked radio systems, radio towers, RF sites and antenna systems; advise and assist with the 800 MHz System planning design, repair and maintenance; coordinate with vendors on support of the radio system, as required. Isolate faults and analyze complex system failures and performance degradation and effects or advise on system recovery/restoration/repair, either remotely or in the field; study system failures and alarm patterns, determining best methods for averting patterned outages. Install, configure and maintain radio communications components; troubleshoot system failures, performance deficiencies and circuit/wiring issues; research, evaluate, test and recommend products, product versions and services to meet future business needs. Job Requirements: Two years of experience administering, maintaining and configuring land mobile radio subscriber units, trunked radio systems, circuit based transport system, and dispatch electronic equipment AND thirty semester (45 quarter) units (or comparable hours) of completed technical coursework or training in electronics or communication technology or related field. Note: An equivalent combination of experience and education/training will be considered. Desired Qualifications: Experience with Motorola Type I, Privacy Plus, Smartnet II, Smartzone, and P25 digital equipment. FCC Rules and regulations, Auto Cad, Visio, RAPTR or ComStudy experience is also desirable.
