- Active Tier 1: Individuals who are employed by, retired from, or volunteer for a governmental entity
or a contractor for a governmental entity and are responsible for the management,
design, construction, installation, command, and operation of public safety
communications systems and supporting information systems. Active members may
vote on association matters, enjoy all benefits and, except where otherwise limited,
serve in any capacity in the association and its chartered groups.
- Active Tier 2: Applicants as defined above in Tier 1 residing in California, Louisiana and
Oregon are to select this Tier.
- Member: Individuals who are not eligible for either of the Active categories. Eligible individuals
not working in administrative or supervisory roles may also choose this category if
they are not interested in voting privileges.
- Additional Chapters: Persons residing and/or permanently employed in the chartered area of a chapter
are required to be members of such chartered Chapter. Members belonging to one
Chapter may become a member of any other number of Chapters as outlined in the
Bylaws.

- Member: Those persons who receive in any form of products or services rendered in business and industry are eligible to be Commercial
members. Voting privileges are not extended to commercial members, though they may otherwise enjoy all benefits and privileges of the association.
- Additional Chapters:
Persons residing and/or permanently employed in the chartered area of a
chapter are required to be members of such chartered Chapter. Members
belonging to one Chapter may become a member of any other number of
Chapters as outlined in the bylaws.

- Level 1: 3 Full Memberships + up to 7 Communications Personnel Receive Online Member Benefits
- Level 2: 8 Full Memberships + up to 17 Communications Personnel Receive Online Member Benefits
- Level 3: 15 Full Memberships + up to 35 Communications Personnel Receive Online Member Benefits
- Level 4: 25 Full Memberships + All of Your Remaining Communications Personnel Receive Online Member Benefits

Membership Questions
1. How do I update my APCO membership information?
- Go to the APCO web site
and login via the My APCO Account link.
- You'll need your email and password to log in
and make any
changes.
2. Why don't I get my CommLink or APCO magazine?
- APCO's mailing list is based on your membership information.
So its important that it is correct.
- CPRA's mailing list is based on APCO's membership database.
3. But what if my membership information is correct and I
still don't get my APCO magazine?
- Updates sometimes miss the APCO magazine publication cut-off
dates. Some cut-off dates can be 30-40 days in advance of publication.
- Note: The CPRA CommLink is available
online and usually posted the first week of the month. Go to
NewsCenter.

- Contact the chapter Vice-President or any of the chapter
officers (see Directory).
6. Can I get the CommLink electronically?
- To obtain a slightly modified version, go to the NewsCenter and click the CommLink link
- To obtain an unmodified version, email your request to the
CPRA Secretary. (Membership is subject to
verification.)
